St Fagans features more than 50 historic buildings that have been carefully rebuilt on site, from medieval churches to old-school classrooms and traditional farmhouses.
Children can wander through different centuries, explore workshops and often watch traditional crafts in action.

You don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy one of Britain’s most iconic seaside resorts.
Build sandcastles on Brighton Beach, paddle in the sea, watch the street performers along the promenade, then take a stroll along Brighton Palace Pier. Even if you skip the rides and arcades, the sea views are worth the £1 entry alone.

Why choose one incredible museum when you can visit two?
Sitting right next door to each other in South Kensington, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum make for one of the best-value family days out in the UK. Visit either one if you’re short on time, or make a full day of it and explore both.
The Natural History Museum is packed with dinosaur skeletons, fascinating wildlife exhibits and the famous blue whale skeleton that never fails to impress.
Next door, the Science Museum is full of hands-on galleries, rockets, engineering marvels and enough buttons to keep curious little fingers very happy.
It’s educational, entertaining and—best of all—completely free.
Although you may have to budget for the inevitable stop in one (or both!) gift shops. Consider yourselves warned.

If your family enjoys getting outdoors, Moors Valley is hard to beat.
Sitting on the Dorset-Hampshire border, it’s packed with woodland walking trails, adventure play areas, sculpture trails and cycle routes. Children can build dens, spot wildlife and burn off enough energy that the journey home might actually be… quiet.
(Parents across the country can only dream.)
If you’re happy to spend a little extra, there’s also the popular narrow-gauge steam railway and Go Ape, but you can easily fill an entire day without spending anything beyond parking.
